Several teams have been linked to unsigned RFA goaltender Jeremy Swayman.
There's still time for things to get sorted out between Jeremy Swayman and the Boston Bruins, but alarm bells are ringing with just days to go before the regular season and reports that the player may ask for a trade.
- The spat between Swayman and the team broke out into the public this week, and reports suggest this is something that has been brewing since the two sides went through a contentious arbitration hearing in 2023 that resulted in a one year pact.
- As much as Swayman appears to enjoy being a Bruin, it's believed he was bothered by the negotiation and determined to get even in the next round of talks. You hear countless stories from former NHL players who say they never saw their team the same way after participating in the mud-slinging that is an arbitration hearing.
- Some of the teams that have been linked to Swayman make sense, some do not. But the list of teams rumoured to have shown interest in the player at various points these past few months including the Canadiens, Devils, Avalanche, Flyers and Sharks. Again, these are just rumours and not all rumours make sense. But often what can happen is a team gets linked to a player and then a few years later they end up getting them when circumstances change, be it cap or roster-wise.

- I still believe Swayman's future likely lies in Boston one way or the other, but it might be a while before the two sides come together to make a deal. It takes just one phone call to change that, but both sides appear pretty dug in as we sit here today. Tick tock.
