NHL Rumour Report: Karlsson, O'Reilly, Lindholm, Krug, Dubois rumours swirl

Trade talk continues to percolate with the NHL draft and free agency just days away.

- The Blues continue to look for a taker for Torey Krug following their botched attempt to package him in a blockbuster with the Flyers this past weekend. Among the teams that Krug would be willing to go to are the Bruins, where Krug began his career.

- The Pierre-Luc Dubois sweepstakes appear to be approaching the finish line, with the Kings in pole position. In recent days the Jets have entertained interest from the Canadiens, Senators, Blue Jackets and Red Wings, while the Wild have kept tabs. Barring something unexpected, it very much appears to be the Kings in front with the Canadiens trying to catch up. Rumoured to be part of the Kings offer are Gabe Vilardi, the rights to Joonas Korpisalo and perhaps another forward such as Alex Iafallo or Viktor Arvidsson. [UPDATE: Korpisalo and Arvidsson are not believed to be part of the package, and Rasmus Kupari is reportedly also included in the package as the two teams close in on a blockbuster trade]

- A pair of new contenders have surfaced in the bidding war for Erik Karlsson: the Hurricanes and Kraken. The Panthers, Penguins, Oilers, Senators and Leafs have also been linked to Karlsson at various points, but few teams have both the enthusiasm and cap space to make it work.

- Though the Flames remain very much in the mix to extend him, the teams that have shown interest in Elias Lindholm continues to grow. The Capitals, Bruins, Wild and Blue Jackets will be in contention if the Flames aren't able to get something done.

- With the Blues expected to add Kevin Hayes from the Flyers at some point [UPDATE: Hayes has been traded to the Blues], many have rightly wondered if that takes the team out for the running to bring back former captain Ryan O'Reilly. Not so, according to some reports. O'Reilly will have plenty of suitors for his services if the Leafs can't retain him before free agency, with the Canucks, Bruins and Capitals among the teams that will kick tires.

- Plenty more to come. Expect rapid fire updates for the next week or so: draft mid-week and NHL free agency on July 1st.
