NHL Rumour Report: John Gibson rumour surfaces

The longtime Ducks netminder is no stranger to the NHL rumour mill.

- John Gibson's name has begun to circulate around the league as a potential trade target in the offseason.

- Gibson has seen his name in the rumour mill many times before. The 28 year old netminder still has a whopping 6 years left at a 6.4 million cap hit, but there should be interest around the league nonetheless. He hasn't exactly had sparkling numbers over the past few seasons, but there are still teams with faith that he can return to form in the right situation.

- It's believed that Gibson is open to a change of scenery. Despite showing signs of life this season, the Ducks haven't been a factor in the Western conference in quite some time. A parting of ways could be best for both sides.

- Though the list of teams pursuing Gibson isn't yet clear, the Oilers could be a match - at least from a hockey standpoint - and they've kick tires on Gibson in years past. However, Gibson's 10 team no trade list could ultimately stand in the way of what otherwise seems like a good fit.

 - The Maple Leafs, Capitals, Sabres, Devils, Blackhawks and Coyotes are all expected to be aggressive in the goalie market this offseason. It remains to be seen if any of them take a run at landing Gibson, who is just one of the many goalies potentially on the market in what should be an exciting NHL offseason.
