NHL Rumour Report: Bertuzzi rumours swirl as NHL trade deadline looms

Tyler Bertuzzi is the latest big name to enter the NHL trade deadline rumour mill.

- Or rather, return to the rumour mill. Rumblings around Bertuzzi have been on and off for at least a year as the Red Wings continue to turn over the keys to a very young core.

- Bertuzzi could still very well be part of the picture, but he along with Thomas Greiss, Nick Leddy and Filip Zadina are generating interest ahead of the deadline. Some have wondered about the availability of Dylan Larkin as well, who teams have kicked tires on in the past. Few teams will be as active as the Red Wings, who find themselves out of the playoff picture once again. Their last playoff appearance was in 2016.

- Bertuzzi is having a fantastic season, putting up just shy of a point per game pace. He's also the kind of physical player teams look to add for a tough playoff run. Bertuzzi remains the lone unvaccinated NHLer, which means he's still due to miss out on any games held in Canada. He also comes with a bit of an injury history.

- Nonetheless, if Bertuzzi is indeed available - and it sounds like Detroit has listened to offers in the past - there will be a pretty big lineup for the 27 year old winger. Bertuzzi has one more year at a reasonable $4.75 million cap hit.
