Rumour Report: Trade winds blowing as NHL trade deadline nears

Lots percolating around the league with the NHL trade deadline now just over a month away.

- We're starting to get a better sense of where pending UFA forward Claude Giroux may be headed. The longtime Flyers captain has spent the last few weeks mulling over his future, and is rumoured to have informed management that he is willing to go to Colorado, St. Louis or Minnesota. More teams could get involved, but it's clear that those three could be the frontrunners.

 - Plenty of tire kicking in the crowded defenseman market. Ben Chiarot, John Klingberg, Mark Giordano and Jakob Chychrun headline a star studded D crop.
- Among the teams believed to have interest in Chiarot are the Maple Leafs. Chiarot - who is from the area - has been a target of Toronto's dating back to the offseason.

- The goalie market has seemingly gone quiet - but it should pick up in short order as the clock ticks towards the March 21st deadline. Names to keep an eye on: Marc-Andre Fleury, Joonas Korpisalo and Braden Holtby. Fleury has generated interest from the Capitals and Avalanche, although his partial no trade clause could mean he ultimaely chooses his fate.

- Three darkhorse goalies to keep an eye on: Matt Murray, Anton Khudobin and Ville Husso. Husso in particular has generated plenty of interest from teams such as the Oilers, but the Blues may be uneager to move their pending UFA goalie on the eve of what they hope to be a deep playoff run.
- Carey Price's name is out there as well, but with his health status very much up in the air, that's more likely an offseason move. The Avalanche would be among the interested suitors.
- This is our first Rumour Report in quite some time and we're glad to be back at it. Thank you for stopping by - plenty more to come.
