NHL Rumour Report: Trade deadline buzz - Feb 18

A smattering of NHL rumours from around the league.

- The Ben Chiarot Sweepstakes (okay, maybe that's a little hyperbolic) seemed to have entered a more serious phase, with some buzz that the Flames came close to acquiring the pending UFA Habs blueliner earlier this week.

-Among the teams in contention for Chiarot are the Leafs, Blues, Kings, Hurricanes, Rangers, Bruins, Panthers and, perhaps, the Flames still.

- A lot of buzz around the Canucks top forwards of JT Miller and Brock Boeser. Another name is gaining some action as well: Conor Garland, who could be a target of the Bruins.

- Lots of smaller names in the rumour mill in recent days: Johan Larsson, Christian Fischer from the Coyotes, Justin Braun of the Flyers, Dillon Dube of the Flames (some speculation he may have been part of the Toffoli talks) and Luke Schenn of the Canucks.

- Some bigger names, too. How about a blockbuster deal for Joe Pavelski if the Stars fall out of it?

- Although the Panthers are probably loath to give up on their young netminder this early, there has definitely been Spencer Knight talk out there. Although it can be hard to parse rumour from speculation at times, a Knight to the Coyotes in a package for Jakob Chychrun swap has been getting some circulation.
