Plenty of rumblings around the NHL with just a few days to go before the trade deadline.

- The Rangers appear to be drumming up a market for many of their players, including Kevin Hayes and Mats Zuccarello. But several others, like Adam McQuaid, Chris Kreider and Vladislav Namestnikov could be on the move as well. The Rangers, who originally wanted to rebuild on the fly, appear to be fully committed to a proper rebuild. I guess we'll see in the summer, with rumours already connecting New York to pending UFA Artemi Panarin.
- Things are heating up around McQuaid in particular, with the the Leafs and Lightning emerging as early frontrunners.
- If Matt Duchene is one of the first players to go this week, don't be shocked if Kevin Hayes goes next. The list of suitors for Hayes continues to grow, with Columbus joining a list that includes Winnipeg, Boston, Colorado, Montreal and Nashville. For teams that strike out on Duchene or don't like the asking price, Hayes makes a lot of sense.
- Would Eric Staal go back to Carolina for another tour of duty? Rumblings suggest the Hurricanes are at least considering it now that they're in the thick of the playoff race. Staal is a pending UFA.
- The Avalanche could be doing a bit of selling at the deadline, despite being in the playoff hunt. Patrik Nemeth, Sven Andrighetto and Nikita Zadorov could all be on the move. There's always rumours around Tyson Barrie as well, but nothing major seems to be brewing on that front right now.
- Lots of activity on the Trade Rumour Board today.
