Rumour Report: Landing spots for Pacioretty, Hoffman, Galchenyuk + more

Max Pacioretty, Alex Galchenyuk, Mike Hoffman and Tyson Barrie could all be on the move before the February 26th deadline.

  • Lots of chatter around the Montreal Canadiens and what they might get up to this trade deadline. With huge money tied up on Carey Price and Shea Weber, a Habs retool on the fly seems more likely than a full teardown. Nonetheless, several big names could be shipped out before the February 26th cutoff. The Penguins, Oilers, Predators and Kings have shown interest in Max Pacioretty, while Alex Galchenyuk has drawn the interest of the Blue Jackets, Rangers, Avalanche, Wild and Ducks in recent weeks. Andrew Shaw could be on the move as well, with the Rangers emerging as a potential landing spot. Pending UFA pivot Tomas Plekanec will also draw interest, but it's not clear whether the Habs are willing to move one of their only established centermen.
  • Teams continue to kick tires on Colorado's Tyson Barrie, a player who is no stranger to the rumour mill. It's not clear why the Avs would want to trade their top offensive blueliner. Nonetheless, teams such as the Islanders, Jets, Canucks and Oilers will continue to show interest as they have in the past.

  • The list of suitors for Sens winger Mike Hoffman continues to grow, with the Bruins joining the Blues and Hurricanes on the list of teams with interest. At a very reasonable $5.1 million contract for the next three years, Hoffman isn't going to come cheap.
  • Lots of new and surprising names getting added to our NHL Trade Rumour board. The first major update in a long time will be dropping in the coming days.
