Rumour Report: Updated contenders for Eberle, Phaneuf, Brodin + more

A crazy few days of trades approaches. Here's the latest on several stars rumoured to be on the move.

  • Jordan Eberle - A trade is expected to come about in the next few days. It certainly seems an inevitability, regardless of when it happens. That's because the Oilers are eager to move salary before extending core forwards Connor McDavid and Leon Draisaitl. For months, it's been known that the Bruins, Islanders and Blues were interested in Eberle, but now it sounds like the Avalanche are part of the mix. Could Tyson Barrie be part of Colorado's offer? Edmonton expressed interest last summer.

  • It's not entirely clear which teams would be on Dion Phaneuf's 12 team trade list, or which of those teams he'd accept a deal to. But last summer the San Jose Sharks were rumoured as a team with interest, and it would make sense for Phaneuf to have them on his list. Dallas and Detroit were other teams that explored a trade in the past, but who knows if that's still the case.
  • Jonas Brodin - Edmonton, Tampa Bay, Montreal and the Isles are among the teams most interested in the Wild blueliner.
  • The hockey world also waits to see what happens with Sami Vatanen, Jonas Brodin, Matt Dumba, Marc-Andre Fleury and Evander Kane, among other names. Check out the trade rumour board for more.
