Rumour Report: Trouba, Eberle, RNH rumours resurface

Rumours are beginning to heat up around Jacob Trouba and Jordan Eberle as the offseason nears.

  • Reports suggest the Bruins and several other teams have begun inquiring on Jets defenseman Jacob Trouba. The 23 year old blueliner requested a trade last offseason, but eventually signed a two year pact to stay in Winnipeg. It's no secret that his desire is still to be traded.
  • Trouba rumours dominated last offseason, and have continued to simmer since then.
  • If and when the Jets get serious about trading Trouba, there will be no shortage of teams interested. In addition to the Bruins, the Red Wings, Avalanche and Coyotes are rumoured possibilities. The Michigan native has expressed a desire to play in the United States, ruling out teams like the Maple Leafs and Oilers who kicked tires in the past. Trouba sits at 50% on the trade rumour board, but that number is bound to creep up over time.

  • The future of Jordan Eberle seems very much up in the air as well, with reports suggesting the Oilers will attempt to move him this summer. Rumours have connected Eberle to the Golden Knights, and the Blues, Oilers or Bruins in the past. Eberle is due a hefty 6 million per season for the next two years, but his scoring potential should make him an intriguing target.
  • The Oilers will at least explore the possibility of moving Ryan Nugent-Hopkins as well. The Wild, Hurricanes, Islanders, Predators, Blue Jackets, Blues and Ducks have expressed interest in the past. The Nuge has slipped down the depth chart with Connor McDavid and Leon Draisaitl anchoring the top two lines, and 6 million a season is simply too much for a player on the 3rd line.
