Canucks defensemen on the market

The Vancouver Canucks are looking to make moves ahead of the trade deadline, but it probably won't be the picks for veterans deal you might expect.

According to their GM, Jim Benning, the team would like to upgrade up front, and may dangle some their blueline depth to get it done.

Veterans Chris Tanev and Alex Edler have spent plenty of time in the rumour mill for the past few seasons. Would the Canucks consider moving either amidst a playoff run? It depends where the team sits in the standings closer to March 1st.

More likely, the Canucks look at moving some of the depth lower down in their lineup. Between Hutton, Sbisa, Tryamkin, Stecher, and Larsen, there's a few too many bodies for too few spots.

The Canucks - whether they end up as a buyer, a seller, or both - will be a team to watch this trade season.
