Reports have pointed in all sorts of directions regarding the Maple Leafs search for backup goalie. It's long believed the club would go for one with plenty of NHL experience, which rules out anyone currently in the Leafs system.
Some have speculated that GM Lou Lamoriello, the former frontman of the Devils franchise, might chase after their backup Keith Kinkaid.
Instead, reports indicate that the Leafs could be closing in on UFA netminder Jhonas Enroth. Enroth certainly fits the job description, having 147 games of NHL experience under his belt.
Other than Enroth and a handful of other names, there really aren't a lot of dependable goalie options available on the free agent market.
