Hall & Hamonic rumours keep coming, Johansson speculation + more

The Taylor Hall for Travis Hamonic rumours won't die down.

Hamonic requested a trade from the Islanders early on in the regular season, but recently recanted on his demand. Nonetheless, that hasn't stopped teams in need of defense from calling, and Hamonic's desire to be traded to Western Canada remains strong. The Oilers, who have long been rumoured a frontrunner for Hamonic, are believed to have offered up packages that include Jordan Eberle, high picks and perhaps Oscar Klefbom. Adding Hall into the mix would certainly be of interest to a team that looks shallow up front.

- A name that is coming up with more frequency lately is Caps forward Marcus Johansson, who is a pending RFA with arbitration rights. The Capitals would like to keep him, but it may depend on what kind of dollar figure he's looking for. At the same time, the Caps will look to clear out a bit of cap space, and may try to move veteran defenseman Brooks Orpik to do so.

- There's a rumour out there that former Habs first rounder Louis Leblanc may be calling it a career. Leblanc was never able to crack the NHL full time, and spent the past season in various European leagues.
