Deadline eve rumour update

Plenty of big names on the NHL Rumour Report rumour board, which should make for an exciting deadline day. Unless everyone gets traded tonight which would be lame.

Jonathan Drouin update

Sounds like this could be a late night or early morning deal. Only about 5 teams still in on the bidding. The Ducks are believed to be one of those teams, with Sami Vatanen's name surfacing as a potential piece going back. The reason we don't have a clearer idea about who the frontrunners are is because GM Yzerman is conducting a bidding war. Teams still aren't sure if they're close to making a deal, because Yzerman simply isn't telling them.

Eriksson landing on the Island?

A rumour out there has the Islanders making a pitch for Loui Eriksson. The Blues are also rumoured to be in the mix. And, of course, the Bruins will try to re-sign Eriksson before the deadline, or afterwards if he doesn't get moved.

Kadri rumours surfacing

Rumours are still out there that the Leafs are listening to offers on Kadri. Have to wonder if the Blues, who are involved in just about everything, would circle back to Toronto at some point.

Yakupov on the move

Sounds like Nail Yakupov is all but gone from the Oilers before tomorrow's deadline. It will be interesting to see if any other big pieces, be it Ryan Nugent Hopkins (linked to Minnesota) or Jordan Eberle move. The rumours are starting to build on all three.

Hawks still hoping to move Bickell

The Blackhawks might have a deal, or two, up their sleeve on trade deadline day. If Stan Bowman can get someone to take overpaid winger Bryan Bickell, he's sure to use that cap space to go after depth forwards and defensemen. The Blackhawks were interested in Dan Hamhuis a few days ago, but it's less clear if they're willing to do that now.

Expect another update tonight or early tomorrow.
